Monel K500 Forgings – High-Strength Nickel-Copper Alloy for Marine & Oilfield Applications
Monel K500 forgings combine the excellent corrosion resistance of Monel 400 with greatly increased strength and hardness obtained through precipitation hardening. As a nickel-copper alloy strengthened by aluminum and titanium, Monel K500 maintains high performance in seawater, chemical processing, and sour gas environments.
Our forgings are produced with precise temperature control and heat treatment, ensuring superior fatigue resistance, tensile strength, and dimensional accuracy. These features make Monel K500 forgings ideal for industries where both mechanical durability and corrosion resistance are required.
Key Applications:
Oil & gas drilling equipment and pump shafts
Marine propeller shafts and fasteners
Chemical industry valves, pumps, and fittings
Aerospace components requiring high strength and corrosion resistance
Advantages:
Twice the strength of Monel 400 while retaining ductility
Excellent resistance to seawater, alkalis, and non-oxidizing acids
Non-magnetic properties at temperatures down to -135°C
Extended service life in harsh working environments

aBetween 70°F (21°C) and temperature shown. Age-hardened material. bMaterial was in the annealed condition prior to test. cElectrical resistivity is markedly influenced by thermal history because of the age- hardening characteristics of the alloy. The data shown represent values measured on decreasing temperature on material in an equivalent to annealed condition with a small amount of age hardening. dResistivity of sample from this test tested at room temperature: 355.5 ohm/circ mil/ft. eExtrapolated. |
